Food Talk
The month of giving gifts has begun and festivities are in full swing, Christmas music playing everywhere, shoppers shopping for their loved ones, planning to either cook a festive meal or going out rather to avoid stress and tension. To celebrate Aura turning ONE, I bring to you a recipe of Festive Biscuits.
Festive Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 cups Plain Flour
1¼ cup Icing Sugar
½ cup Butter
1 bar of melted Cooking Chocolate
½ cup chopped Pistachios & Almonds
½ cup chopped Chili Flakes
Method:
- Whisk icing sugar and butter until fluffy and creamy.
- Sieve the flour to the sugar mix and bind together, get those hands dirty and knead the dough.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Roll out the dough and take a round cookie cutter and cut the biscuits into shape.
- Then take a smaller round cookie cutter and cut the center of the biscuit to resemble a donut ring.
- Bake for 12 minutes at 180 degrees C or until lightly brown and cool on a wire mesh.
- Melt the cooking chocolate in a bowl.
- In another bowl add the pistachio and almonds and in a third bowl add the chili flakes.
- Dunk the ring biscuit in chocolate and immediately dunk it in the bowl of pistachio and almonds and let is cool off.
- Repeat step 9, but this time dunk the chocolate part in chili flakes.
- If you prefer plain chocolate then only dunk in melted chocolate.
P.S: You can use sea salt but sprinkle a little rather than dunking the ring whole.
